Description

The Glenfarclas Distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, at the foot of Ben Rinnes mountain, taking water for whisky from the purest spring, replenished by snow melt from the mountains. The name translates from Gaelic as ‘Valley of the Green Grasslands.’
Since its creation, the distillery has never changed owners and has been owned by the Grant family for six generations. Glenfarclas was built by Robert Hay in 1836, and after his death was purchased by John Grant in 1865.
Glenfarclas whisky is famous for its traditional Speyside character, full-bodied, sherry style and deep natural color, highly valued among whisky connoisseurs and regularly receives prestigious awards in its field.
In 2006, Glenfarclas was named Distillery of the Year by Whisky Magazine. Glenfarclas 40yo is a mature magical whisky of rich amber-gold color, aged 40 years in sherry casks, recipient of numerous awards. It has a delicate deep sweet aroma of Eastern sweets and fruits, which reveals new facets with each minute. Richness and generosity are also manifested in the taste, with nuances of caramel, chocolate, raisins, showing the influence of the sherry cask. The aftertaste is lingering, elegant with delicate sweetness and dryness, which balances the taste.
